Comments
Comments: Snow started perhaps halfway up North Twin Trail, continued generally to Garfield - no more than an inch deep. No traction was needed to get up to North Twin. Microspikes needed to get from North Twin to South Twin - some blue ice bulges on the rock scrambles. Twinway from South Twin to hut was very difficult in places due to large ice bulges - too much for Microspikes (had to bushwhack around a few). Crampons would be needed to get up the tricky portion at the moment.

From hut to Galehead, Microspikes sufficed. From Gale River Trail junction to Garfield, Microspikes sufficed. A few ice bulges, including on the ledges on near East Garfield Ridge Peak - care was needed to get down those. Steep portion prior to campsight was surprisingly not overly icy. Microspikes needed to comfortably get down to the old Garfield Pond Trail junction, but barebootable below there. Some mud pits down low.
