| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
No issues parking. While driving on Rt.2 from Jefferson toward Gorham, I encountered commuter traffic driving erratically almost to the point of road rage. Couldn't believe it has come this far North. "WOW" |

| Water Crossing Notes: |
Some water areas are open and some frozen hard. All easy to go through or around.
The one major crossing is easily crossed just up stream from original crossing point, where it looks crossable but didn't chance it. |

| Comments: |
Trail is generally in good shape. There are post holes from previous hikers from the start to about a quarter mile. Snow/crust firmed up in elevation. Snowshoes were the footwear of the day. Good snow cover with a nice track through-out. but does wander off of actual trail corridor occasionally. Engine hill bushwhack is smooth sailing through minimal brushy areas. Great job to the ones who created the initial track. Isolation trail has its usual obstacles. Davis Path has lots of leaners and other obstacles. Trails need some brushing and widening. Most Water/marshy areas are frozen making it easier to access. Let's hope the upcoming warm weather doesn't soften it up to much. Barebooters beware.
Still lots of snow cover in high elevation.
Great day out with Van, Claudette, Jeff, Betsy, and Paul. |
