Comments
Comments: Used microspikes from first brook crossing until back to road. Worked well with a few slight slips on hard hidden ice on the way down. 3 other hikers from Kanc side--2 with crampons, 1 with stablicers I believe. Hiker doing the slides loop obviously had crampons and said he had a few anxious moments. Snowshoes extra baggage at this point. Some bare spots down lower and 2 or 3 inches maximum up higher. All hard crusted with spots of ice which were mostly visible making it possible to carefully walk through. A dusting to 3" of snow would likely make crampons a better choice. Another great day to be out.
