Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: The three major water crossings on Nineteen-Mile Brook Trail were quite sketchy. At this point the temps were not low enough for long enough for the ice dams/bridges to fully reform after the warm weather, and were slushy. I ended up having to wade across all three to avoid slipping and falling. Many groups coming up NMB trail turned back.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: A handful of fallen trees.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: The first mile of Wildcat Ridge Trail up to Wildcat D had some longer stretches of clear/blue ice that my pup needed help with. I really wished for crampons rather than my microspikes. Water crossings on Nineteen Mile Brook Trail very difficult.
Bugs
Bugs: On vacation

Comments
Comments: I came up from Pinkham Notch Via Lost Pond and Wildcat Ridge Trails. Wildcat Ridge had several icy sections that could be navigated on microspikes but crampons would have been preferred. The traverse from Wildcat D to Wildcat A was in great shape with a few fallen trees. Descending down Nineteen Mile Brook Trail was a challenge, as all three major water crossings were incredibly difficult to get over, especially with my dog. I ended up wading across each and carrying the hound. Had I come up this route, I would have turned back.
