Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: we parked right across from the trailhead. There were quite a few cars there but there were enough spots for us when we arrived for a 9:00 am start.
Surface Conditions
Surface Conditions: Snow - Trace/Minimal Depth, Ice - Blue, Ice - Breakable Crust, Snow/Ice - Frozen Granular
Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment: Light Traction
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: The first big river crossing was not crossable where the trail is. Keep going a little upriver and you will see a big log across the river. We crossed on that log. There were 2, maybe 3 other river crossings that were rock hopable (1 was via another log) but be very careful where you put your feet, one person had one foot that went through the ice into the running water.

Comments
Comments: Blue bird day and gorgeous views from the top. It was cold and not too windy. Two people turned around in front of us that thought the first river was not passable. Many other people crossed it though. Trail was packed most of the way and microspikes were fine. There was one section that had a ton of soft ice so microspikes were fine. If it got colder you may want crampons to get up that one section. At the very top we got away with microspikes but two people slipped; crampons would probably have been better.
