| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
I was dropped off at Parking lot at end of Clinton Rd, plowed and room for many cars. Cog is charging but you will be able to park at upper lot by station. Forest service plowed ammo lot WHY? There has been no safe parking on Kanc or rte 3. I walked to almost Clinton road while waiting for Charlie to fetch me. Good Verizon Service from hut to cog. |

Open streams on Crawford Path above trail to hut on way to Pierce. Ammo Ravine Trail lots of open water and sketchy crossings. Icy rocks, open water and thick ice to cross. Gem pool extra sketchy. |

Blowdown needs ax higher up nearing Pierce. Ammo Ravine a couple crawl understand that skiers won't like below Gem pool. |

Awesome day carried snowshoes and used mirco spikes after summiting Pierce, glad to have good hiking poles. Bare rock,ice and wind on ridge. Glad to have good goggles to block wind. Nice to meet Brenda on way to Monroe too. Ammo just below hut is a frozen mess from the thaw and rain. Nice snow ruined by earlier post holers lower on Ammo. No skiing here folks, open water all the way. Super day. |
