 | Comments: |
Nice am hike. I carried but did not use light traction and would advise the same. Whiteface Mtn trail has avoidable solid ice patches. Whiteface-Piper link is scenic, has a nice section of ledges of a descent length, this was trickiest section in that some minorly creative footwork, going around trail was needed to avoid some very large and thick blue ice flow. Vista trail to semi open ledges on south part of Piper is one of most scenic areas in Belknaps, ice wasn't to tricky due. If a thin layer of snow shows up soon be aware of the large blue ice flows that it will be hiding. |
