Trail was nicely packed from good previous traffic. Saw one person using just microspikes, but as soon as I tried it, I postholed up to my knee. Snowshoes recommended. Steep trail made descent tough in shoes. Controlled butt glissade was fun on the way down. Use caution climbing trail around the chimney- very steep, icy ledge with a couple good tree handholds. Great views on Osceola. Cold day but so beautiful and only one other person on the trail. |
