Comments
Comments: Started in spikes and quickly switched to snowshoes. Nearing the end of the Engine Hill BW we met up with a hardy group of 4 that had been breaking. The Engine Hill Bushwhack was nicely done and a bit lower than I am accustomed to. We started taking turns breaking anywhere from 12-18" of powder and with every few steps slipping in to deep sink holes from 3 to 4 feet where the snow was covering up open water/slush puddles. It was quite comical and slow going crawling out of these obstacles. No issue keeping warm while working for our peak. Saw a total of 6 others - all in snowshoes, fast conditions on the return trip. Excellent day out on my favorite type of hike - Cold and Challenging. Awesome day out with Bill Cronin, Gypsy hiker and Tara.
