| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
No parking at the end of Haystack, so you need someone to drop you off and pick you up. The old bush wack is posted as NO Trespassing as of a couple of weeks ago. The owner is sick of people trashing his land. |
| Surface Conditions: |
Snow - Unpacked Powder, Snow - Drifts |
| Recommended Equipment: |
Snowshoes, Skis |
| Water Crossing Notes: |
Broke out the bushwack past the first two crossings. Snow bridge is established over the third crossing and should firm up over the next couple of days. Still some open water, but it supported my 250+lb (me+pack) although I was careful with my foot placement. |
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Blow downs require some crawling for those of us with larger packs. I broke trail around some others, to save some hassle.

| Dog-Related Notes: |
Trails packed, so bring the pups when temps warm up. |

| Comments: |
Haystack is well packed by the snow mobiles, so it's fast and fun on skis. Deep snow up top with three foot plus drifts. I should have brought a shovel and tunneled through rather than trying to go over! |
