Comments
Comments: What a great day to hike Moosilauke. The first mile or so was bare ground, with traces of snow and thin ice starting after that. Microspikes were worthwhile pretty early on, although I managed until about 2.5 miles in without them. There was more snow than I expected although snowshoes certainly weren’t warranted. Carriage Road below just tree line had as much as a foot+ in the drifts and was fully covered (6”?) in the boot pack. Overcast at the summit, but almost no wind at all and good views in all directions. It was a busy day though—I counted 55 people on my way down!
