Comments
Comments: Barebooted to about halfway up the steep section up the backside of Cannon, to the point that the exhileration wore off. Microspikes went on for the duration. Snow depths were an 1 inch at the parking lot to 6 inches on the ridge. Between Cannon and N. Kinsman, sections went from a couple of inches to 6-8 inches in wind blown sections. The climb up N. Kinsman had some pretty icy sections but microspikes handled them well. The Fishin' Jimmy trail wasn't as bad as I expected-only a couple of Hail Mary's. Full crampons would have made some of the hairier sections much easier. Surprised to see only 2 other hikers (apart from the hut)-the woods on the ridge were gorgeous today!
