Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Very large paved lot with bathroom facilities - about half full at 11AM; Fee area; Ranger on site that was circulating through the parking lot talking with people, inquiring about plans and advising on conditions (and I presume checking parking stickers). Very nice guy.

Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Both trails in pretty good shape. Osseo Trail had fresh blazes in lower sections and well blazed overall. There were two easy step overs in the switchbacks approaching the downlook. Between the end of the flat section after downlookand the climb to Flume Slide Trail junction there are about 8-10 blowdowns. Most were easy but some of the duck unders will become an issue as snow depth increases. One large blowdown is being by passed. There was a guy out doing some maintenance that limbed all the blowdowns and cut out the most annoying duck under (which I really appreciated on my return trip).
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Fine for dogs today. Saw several.

Comments
Comments: Trails in pretty good shape. Wore spikes car to car (mostly on the advice of ranger in lot who said the trails were really icy). Trails actually were not that bad at all. The ramp down to bridge and the actual bridge were pretty slick. After that it was alternating stretches of brittle ice, leaves and frozen gravel pretty much all the way into the switchbacks. From roughly the downlook to summit it was mostly packed snow (minimal depth). Very little actual ice anywhere. Nice cruising conditions.
