Microspikes are just about a necessity now. Large patches of ice/black ice on Blueberry Ledge up to ~2,500 feet. Above that, and particularly past the Tom Wiggins junction, there is packed ice and around 5" of frozen snow. Would be very difficult going without traction. The main ledge on Whiteface is actually still very clear and easily climbed.
There is consistent powder and ice on the Rollins trail along the bowl to Passaconaway and up to the summit. Similar conditions descending Dicey's Mill trail. |
