|Hiking Trail Conditions Report|
||Little Haystack Mountain, Mt. Lincoln, Mt. Truman, Mt. Lafayette, NH|
||Falling Waters Trail, Franconia Ridge Trail, Greenleaf Trail, Old Bridle Path|
|Date of Hike:
||Friday, November 24, 2017|
|Parking/Access Road Notes:
||Few cars at 7:30. At 2:00 maybe 50% full |
||Ice - Blue, Wet/Slippery Rock, Ice - Breakable Crust, Snow/Ice - Frozen Granular, Mud - Minor/Avoidable, Snow/Ice - Postholes |
||Light Traction |
|Water Crossing Notes:
||No issues. The water levels were normal and some places where the depth was minimal, there was ice. |
|Trail Maintenance Notes:
||Multiple blow downs on upper Falling Waters trail - approx 3/4 from the junction leading to Shining Rock. |
||A few nice pups wearing coats and didn't notice anything on their feet. |
|Lost and Found:
||It was an amazing day. In the am it was cloudy, cool and the trail was firm. After passing over Lincoln, the sun came out and it started warning up and softening the snow which there was plenty of. |
I would say the trails are 90% covered with snow and ice from the parking lot to the ridge.
NOTE: I would wear micro spikes from the get go. Perfect terrain today for them.
