| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
We had to walk in from Rte 3 parking area. Not bad except for that one water crossing. Once the bridges are done we will be good! |
|
| Surface Conditions: |
Wet Trail, Snow - Unpacked Powder, Snow - Drifts, Standing/Running Water on Trail |
|
| Recommended Equipment: |
Light Traction |
|
| Water Crossing Notes: |
The three bridges on Gale River Road from trail head go as follows, 1)no bridge, hard crossing but doable, 2) bridge, walkable & 3) no bridge, easily crossable. |
|
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
blowdowns up first embankment look like they have been tended to. Not in the way of the trail, but a lot of them! Two trees across trail both easy to manuever. One you have to choose, over or under? |
|
| Dog-Related Notes: |
The dog had some issue with that first (and last) water crossing. She almost chickened out coming back which would have left us in a strange position. |

| Comments: |
Has the blowdown section on the first embankment you climb been like that for long? I hiked this 9/12 this year and dont remember the significant amount of down trees. |
