Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: We rock-hopped the 5 (each way) Rocky Branch crossings. Had to scout for a good route at the first crossing, but the others were fine. Had to watch out for ice on the rocks.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: The Isolation Trail is nearly washed out in a couple of spots between the first and second river crossings due to recent storms. A pretty intense section of blowdowns on the Isolation Trail just before the Davis Path intersection. Kudos to the AMC trail crew for making this passable. Looong sections of standing/running water on Rocky Branch and Isolation trails, but I suspect this is the natural state of things.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: No dogs today. Wouldn't recommend for dogs that didn't really like water.
Bugs
Bugs: No bugs.

Comments
Comments: Fantastic bluebird day in the Whites with two of my kids!

If there are trails with more standing/running water on them than these, I haven't seen them. I think we spent half the 14 miles rock hopping to stay dry. But the views of Washington & the southern Presidentials from the Isolation summit were amazing and made it all worthwhile.

#47 for me - one to go!
