Comments
Comments: A large group of Misfits did this Traverse with car spots...19 Mile Brook Trail was in surprisingly good condition..after last week’s wind event we were prepared for the worse...we did not go to the Hut (I’m sure that is in good shape considering the cars in the lot)...not an issue summiting Carter Dome....Here is where the destruction started..not too bad descending Carter Dome but definitely ascending South Carter...this was by far the worse section of the day..the SOUTH side of South Carter...many, many crawl unders/climb overs/ bushwhacks around when we absolutely had to here.. Eric took down a large overhang with Steve’s Stihl saw...the rest of this hike had less frequent blow downs...not saying there aren’t any....just nothing compared to the SOUTH side of South Carter.....not many people on the trail today..I usually save my trail reports for the winter but given the circumstances here it is...great day out with the Misfits!
Great job Steve!!
