Date of Hike
Date of Hike: Thursday, October 19, 2017
Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: No problems
Surface Conditions
Surface Conditions: Dry Trail, Wet/Slippery Rock, Mud - Minor/Avoidable
Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: the only significant water crossing at 1 mile is low and easily crossed
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: 3 blow downs that I saw, but 1 looks like it has been there a while as there is a path that has been made around it. Also, trail markers are very scant and there are a couple places they are needed to keep people from going off trail. One couple I met said they got lost twice, including at the river crossing.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Only reliable water within the first 2 miles in. Other than that, there are a couple small springs seeping out of rocks, but I doubt they are reliable all the time. There is an old well right off the summit, but I didn't trust it.
Bugs
Bugs: None! too windy and cool
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: Picked up a plastic shopping bag, doubt anyone is looking for it.

Comments
Comments: What an awesome day. Sunny, 65, breezy, and you could see for miles. Definitely bring water for dogs as it is not reliable once you start climbing. Met a few people on a weekday hike.
