Took the herd path to bypass the first and second Little River crossings. Crossing three was rock hoppable. |
|
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
There is one widow maker within the first mile of the North Twin Trail. A few widowmakers, duck unders, and stepovers on the ascent of North Twin. Don't recall any blowdowns between the peaks. Many clogged waterbars on North Twin Trail. Also lots of significant, active erosion on the ascent of North Twin, including some collapsing rock steps. Very brushy in the final ascent of North Twin, as well as in places between the peaks. The excellent brushing down between the viewpoints on North Twin years ago is still holding up. |

| Comments: |
The old railgrade was fairly dry with some nice fall foliage colors. Upper elevation trees have shed their leaves, especially with today's winds.
Some areas of mud and running water on the ascent of North Twin. Ended up climbing into the fog, so there were lots of wet rocks above 4,000 feet. Summits cleared just minutes after we had started our final descent off North Twin. Though we missed the views, it turned into a warm, sunny day for the walk out. |
