Comments
Comments: We did the loop counterclockwise, going up the lesser (but still challenging) south slide. A cold start in the frost with hats and gloves. Beautiful views and warm sun as we slowly worked our way up the south slide, which had a lot of loose gravel and dirt. Great views during our morning snack near the top of the south slide. The trees are starting to turn.

To avoid going down the north slide we took the Scaur Ridge Trail - a beautiful trail without a loot of rocks and roots so you can real stretch your legs on it. Near the bottom there is a good spot to get a view of the north slide - while admiring the view there was the sound of a big rick slide. Using Scaur Ridge to bypass the north slide adds about 1 mile to the trip. The hike out along the Livermore Trail seemed to go on for ever.

All together 12.3 miles. A perfect day for an outstanding hike.
