Trails
Trails: Pine Bend Brook Trail, Mt. Tripyramid Trail, Sabbaday Brook Trail
Date of Hike
Date of Hike: Sunday, October 1, 2017
Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: No lot at the Pine Bend Brook trailhead, so parked on the side of the road across the street. Plenty of space to pull off. THE SABBADAY FALLS LOT IS CLOSED & BARRICADED. Guess I didn't get the memo about reconstruction work at the Falls viewing area. We came down this way, so just ducked under the construction netting.
Surface Conditions
Surface Conditions: Dry Trail, Wet Trail, Standing/Running Water on Trail, Mud - Minor/Avoidable
Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Water levels were very low, so no problems with any crossings. Sure would hate to do this hike after a big rain though!
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Lost count of the trees across the trail on Sabbaday, but nothing you couldn't step over. Many had been there for quite a while. Maybe because it's in the Sandwich Wilderness?
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Didn't see any dogs.
Bugs
Bugs: None.
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: Nope.

Comments
Comments: Another bluebird day in the Whites, and another great hike with my daughter!

Coming down the top part of the Sabbaday Falls trail was sketchier than the guide book suggested. Steep, rooty, loose rock, etc. Glad I had my poles & glad the trail was dry.
