Comments
Comments: Day 1 of an overnight hike...

Rocky Branch Trail from Jericho Road is wide and flat to the shelter area. Once beyond the grade is gradual and the footing is nice. Then at the other end of the spectrum comes the Isolation Trail which is wet, muddy, rooty, rocky and slick in spots. No issues on Davis Path or Isolation spur.

I decided to take the longer southern Rocky Branch approach for a leisurely ascent, camping at the USFS tent site just below the Davis Path junction. Water in that immediate area is non-existent: .1 - .2 mile down there are some small and stagnant puddles you could draw from but there is a small flow about .3 mile down. After dinner I went up Isolation's summit - the sunset was pretty sweet :)
