Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Warning: Almost all of the top 1.5 miles of the Kinsman Pond Trail are directly down a watercourse! Lots of moss covered rocks, slippery conditions and VERY slow going, picking your way down through the rocks and water. Terrible trail - wish we had never used it.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: In general, the main routes were in good shape - but not the Kinsman Pond Trail, and although it is well marked with blazes, it is still difficult to follow.

Comments
Comments: I would never, ever take the Kinsman Pond Trail again or recommend it to anyone. It spoiled our hiking day, which had been perfect up until then. Lonesome lake to FJ to KRT were nice, solid trails, the summit conditions were perfect, and the people friendly. Trails in good shape. But the KPT was AWFUL. It took over two hours to go the 2.3 miles of the KPT.
