This was my first time hiking Mount Washington on these trails and it was spectacular! We were blessed with a great day and a clear summit. Views from the ridge and the summit into the gulf were breathtaking. As always, pay attention to the forecasted summit temperatures and pack appropriately. I threw my winter ski mittens in my pack last minute, in case my lighter summer gloves turned out to be too thin. And I was happy I did, because it was the mittens that got used once we got to a certain elevation above treeline. Our hike took us 6 hours and 10 minutes hiking time, but of course we were out longer enjoying the views and having lunch on the summit. |
