Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: None, very small amounts of running water if needed. I would suggest filtering it.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: These trails are very well worn. The tree root systems exposed are higher than expected so pick your feet up, lots of rocks but it is New England, humans made a lot of go arounds from the rocks leaving erosion and damage.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Lots of dogs and thank you all owners they were all on leashes!
Bugs
Bugs: Usual for this time of year, flies, nats and the every encrouching single deer fly that follows you all they way up and down.
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: Nothing

Comments
Comments: Hiking from Rollins State Park to Winslow State Park and back I met many along the way. These parks are a nice family attraction. I met 2 young ladies who had impeccable make up, beautiful white sneakers, and (1) 8 ounce water bottle each, I rolled my eyes. Then a group of radio controlled trucker enthusiasts about 15 of them. They were accommodating to all hikers and the kids loved them as they were driving (via hand held controls) these trucks up the trail. I was questioned on the patches on my pack as I are my lunch, 4000 FT, AMC Huts, Fire Towers...it was fun explaining them reliving each accomplishment to get them. A woman being yelled at by her boyfriend or husband that he was sick of all the nice people on the trials " Does everyone have to say hi" I yelled out Hello! Then finally the flip flop hikers...my ankles were screaming just looking at them. All in all its a very nice hike with great views.
