Trails: Livermore Trail, Mt. Tripyramid Trail, Pine Bend Brook Trail, Scaur Ridge Trail
Date of Hike
Date of Hike: Thursday, August 17, 2017
Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Only five vehicles when I arrived at the big fee-required Livermore Road lot, by the entrance to Waterville Valley Ski, at 10:15.
Surface Conditions
Surface Conditions: Dry Trail, Wet Trail
Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Easy two-rock crossing of Avalanche Brook at start of Mt. Tripyramid Trail.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Not much you can do to "maintain" the North Slide section of the Mt. Tripyramid Tr. The steep top part of the Pine Bend Brook Trail, on my descent, was more eroded than I recall - maybe "4K trail syndrome"? Livermore Trail (Road) has been freshly graded and would be fine for any vehicle, if they could use it. The even surfaces of the Scaur Ridge Trail were a welcome respite - it wouldn't appear to get much use.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes:
Bugs
Bugs: Just a few little annoyers on Livermore Road near the end of my hike.
Lost and Found

Comments
Comments: The North Slide section lived up to its reputation and took me a long time. I appreciated the dry rocks and absence of other hikers, who could easily dislodge rocks even if careful.
