Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: No issues.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Several blowdowns along MLT, mostly stepovers. One large tree is in the trail with a herd path around it. Blazes on these trails are mostly faded and obscure. Blazes within the wilderness area are a mix of yellow, orange and blue. For beginner hikers, MPT as it climbs Parker may take some care to follow due to its many twists and turns as well as heavy leaf cover.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Sure.
Bugs
Bugs: Not bad in the woods, but holy crow the summit was a cloud of black flies. It's mid-August, why are you still here???
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: Nothing.

Comments
Comments: A simple out and back to Parker, no surprises. The logging road stretch is grassy and overgrown in spots. Trails were dry overall. Excellent footing on this route makes for easy travel. Tremendous views from the summit today. I was planning on lingering for a while, but the bugs had other plans. Saw a few other people out, which was more than I expected for a Monday.
