Comments
Comments: Originally going to be just a hike around the Imp loop, but the explorer gene kicked in and I kept going up to the ridge, doing an out and back to two of the Carter peaks.

Mostly damp trail in the morning dried out in the afternoon. Some running water on the upper NCT. The forecast for clear sunny skies was completely wrong. It stayed dark and overcast, which produced many intermittent light showers. The ridge was mostly in a cloud.

The southern leg of the IT is clearly lesser used, but no issues following it. It's a long, rocky descent though, making for some tiring footing.

Lots of minor mud pits on the ridge, where I saw the most people.

I skipped the short whack to Lethe due to time. That initial clear as a bell herd path is a cruel tease for what is beyond!
