Comments
Comments: Cold and Windy. Beautiful Day. Ice started at the first sharp left on the trail where you start to get some great views. Ice was very thick in places and wet also. I put on crampons and used them for the rest of the day. Turned around at the hut. Wind chills were well below zero at the hut and before. Some great people including one guy from RI and one from MA. The guy was in the Coast Guard. They made it to the top of Lafayette without any traction. I do not know how they did it but I am glad they made it down okay. Dan did the entire loop and said the wind was not bad after he headed down Lafayette and over to Lincoln and down Falling Waters. He said it was very difficult and slow going down Falling Waters because of the ice. Met four people from MA who were very nice with Microspikes on heading for the hut. Great Thanksgiving Day!!!
