Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: My Golden made it easily with very little assistance. One errant friendly, but dominant hound type of dog, on Mount Monroe path. S/he was way out of sight of owner and would not leave my well trained dog alone, before my dog had enough and almost knocked him off the steep path. I had to physically restrain this dog by its collar until the owner decided to show up. Please always keep your dog in visual contact regardless of whether you think they are friendly.
Bugs
Bugs: Amazingly none for the entire path.
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: One sneaker half way up the Ammonoosuc trail. There was a written sign at the trail head.

Comments
Comments: Start sunrise to miss the crowds. We were basically alone until we hit the Lake of Clouds hut which had tourist hikers in packs. They were all well guided though with smart hiker guides managing walk thrus. We got to the top with nobody at the Summit Sign (a rare happenstance). We passed a number of youth groups on the path down on the Jewell trail which had trail guides that had their tours well instructed on walk thrus. However, many (at least 3 I could remember) of the youth groups had music blaring (yes on a nature mountain hike) from their back packs. If you need music to get you thru a nature hike, plug in the earphones please. It can take away from other hikers there to enjoy the sounds of nature.
