Comments
Comments: I've planned Owl's Head 3 times so far this year and each time rain kept me from attempting. Conditions were finally favorable this weekend and Ben and I took advantage.

We planned on doing it as an overnight mainly to test some new gear I got this year, but also to just change up our pace as we had been on a streak of speed hikes so far this year. We started at 9PM on Friday with the goal of making it to near the end of the Black Pond Bushwack before setting up camp. When we arrived at Lincoln Brook, we felt adventurous and decided to continue. All crossings on Lincoln Brook are rock-hoppable without much issue, and even if you wanted to wade through it was very shallow (this might not last beyond Monday with the rains coming). The biggest challenge was mud pits along Lincoln Brook...avoidable but not easy! We hit the slide around 2AM, summit just before 3, and then set up camp north of the summit. For anyone attempting to camp on top of Owl's Head, I recommend a very small tent.

Trip back was unremarkable other than witnessing the large number of people attempting Owl's Head on the 22nd. We took the regular trail to Franconia Brook Trail just to see how the crossings were as both of us had only done the Black Pond route.
