Went upstream about a hundred feet to find some good dry rocks to hop across on for Wild River. The 3 upper crossings of the Wild River were easy as well as Red Brook and Spruce Brook. |

| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
I cleared about 20 small blowdowns with a handsaw and clipped some branches as I hiked. Many step over and duck under blowdowns on the Wild River Trail and Black Angel Trail. The Carter-Moriah Trail and Rainbow Trail are outside the wilderness and they were all clear of blowdowns. |

| Comments: |
Nice day for a long loop and 1 4K peak. Temps from 60 to 80 with sunny sky and some clouds. Saw about 16 hikers. My first time on the Rainbow Trail. Nice view from the open section below Carter Dome. The Moriah Brook Trail bridge over the Wild River has been removed with all the old lumber and cables piled up neatly near the Wild River Trail. I have not heard if the bridge will be rebuilt, It may be on the WMNF website. Will have to check. Another great day on the trails. |
