| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Ferncroft trailhead lot was packed. Had to park on Ferncroft Rd about maybe 100 yds from the lot. |

| Water Crossing Notes: |
Only one water crossing I recall...on Dicey's Mill Trail coming down. Water wasn't too high and just walked across large fallen tree to cross stream. |
|
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Well maintained for the most part. A few times coming down DMT were bordering on overgrown a bit. |
|
| Dog-Related Notes: |
Only saw 2 dogs all day. Blueberry ridge near the Whiteface summit looked like it would be a challenge for pets. |
|
| Bugs: |
It was pretty buggy at and between summits. Not so much the horseflies but rather the little black bugs...midges? I got bit up pretty good without any repellant. |

Beautiful day to hike. We got a late start, 10:15 am, and finished at 7:30 pm. Only thing challenging about the hike was the distance and the insects. 10+ mile loop. Good water sources coming down DMT so bring a filter if you need to refill. Views were nicer than expected (aside from Passaconway summit). Would recommend an earlier start than we got; being in decent hike shape (I was not); and bug spray. Enjoy! |
