Started a bit before 9am and finished at 1pm on this always excellent loop. Brooks were flowing pretty well..glad for the bridges. A bit of snow at the start. A mixture of snow and ice further up. I put on MicroSpikes climbing up the "Balcony" where it got icy but I could have barebooted the whole hike today with care. The trail itself had less ice than the terrain on its sides..fair amount of frozen snow. It was probably around 25 degrees at the top with no wind. Carriage road in great shape. Great day out with far reaching views with Loon making snow for Thanksgiving? I saw a group from the Plymouth State University Outing Club, a solo hiker and a couple. |
