Date of Hike
Date of Hike: Tuesday, July 4, 2017
Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Lots of parking available when I arrived at 7AM. Still lots of open spots when I returned at 1PM.
Surface Conditions
Surface Conditions: Dry Trail, Mud - Significant
Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: I had to wade (almost knee deep) across the first water crossing. Cold water was a bit brisk on my ascent, but felt wonderful on my descent. I suspect the water levels are still running high because of the torrential rains on Saturday. All other crossings were no problem.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Trail maintenance has been done in many places at it shows (nice work folks). A lot of mud on the lower section of the trail. At first, I just politely hopped around/over it, but that got annoying after a mile.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: A few friendly encounters. Good pups.
Bugs
Bugs: Mosquitos. LOTS of them!!! And they were extremely motivated to suck my blood.

Comments
Comments: Perfect conditions for a hike today with clear skies and low temperatures.
The trail is in great shape once you get past all the muddy sections on the lower part.
Views from the summit were fantastic and 360deg.
