Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: At least 6 major and maybe as many minor water crossings. Rock hopped most, but slipped on one at the beginning and went in over my shoes.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: 2 blowdowns but walk overs. Generally trail in decent shape. First part of trail wide graded old road, then an access road to the power line crossing, after the power lines, more NH traillike, rocks, roots, etc.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Saw someone just starting with a dog, they will love the water crossings!
Bugs
Bugs: Not much of an issue, although wife found a tick on her boots when cleaning them later in the day.

Comments
Comments: Did Reel Brook just up to the KRT and back for redlining. We had waiting until the rain stopped and figured it would be wet and muddy, it did not disappoint. Trail itself wasn't bad. It was a pleasant walk to the power line crossing on wide albeit muddy paths. After the power lines the grade increased, as did the running water on the trail. There was one area where there were 3 water crossings on the same stream within about 1/4 mile, thought about bushwhacking along the bank on the way back but it looked like it wouldn't be worth the time. On the way down about a mile from the KRT the skies opened up and we got drenched, I decided at that point walking through the water was just as easy. Although it did stop any thoughts of a second hike in the afternoon!
