 | Dog-Related Notes: |
Pug Attack!!! Two miles into hike there was a trashy couple in their late 40's or 50's sitting in middle of trail smoking cigarettes. They had camped in the middle of the freaking trail! In an instant after seeing them we were attacked by no less than six pugs wearing dog sweaters. They tried to bite but we didn't give them an extremity and pugs' stupid little faces are too short to bite a moving leg. They followed us 100+ feet down trail. Owners wailed and screamed obnoxiously with their hideous Boston accents but never even stood up or said anything to us. These people are truly despicable, self-centered a$$holes who deserve a slow painful death. Other trail report from Waumbek says he was bitten and bloodied by this same pack of $hit-toothed little rats. Encounted a very-well behaved white German Shepherd at the Hut/South Twin summit. He was a good boy and knew how to dog correctly. |

 | Bugs: |
Surprisingly not bad at all-some skeeters down low on Bondcliff trail and at Gale River parking lot while we enjoyed our customary post-hike beer and gatorade(glacier freeze of course) |

 | Lost and Found: |
Dan tried to lose my shirt but I found it. I lost my marbles around West Bond but eventually found them. |

Perfect mountain weather for Dan and I to finish our 48 4000-footers. Breathtaking views from Galehead Hut to Bondcliff. Suffered from some serious cramping and related issues starting just below South Twin. Dan was a champ and carried 8 liters of water and all my heavy gear rest of hike while I tried not to puke and poop myself. Thanks bud:) Thank you also to the nice man by West Bond who gave me some salt pills while I was sitting on the ground trying not to cry. Today's lesson kids-no matter how much you are hydrating, don't hike 21 miles on a hot day when you sweat a lot and have had diahrrea. |
