Only a few cars in the parking area at 8 am. A dozen at the end of the day. |

Dry Trail, Mud - Minor/Avoidable |

| Water Crossing Notes: |
Both crossings of Avalanche Brook on the Mt Tripyramid trail are easy. Water levels are finally down. |

| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
No trees down on the trails. Some recent water bar cleaning done on Mt Tripyramid trail. |

| Dog-Related Notes: |
No dogs today. |

| Bugs: |
Many, many friendly blackflies accompanied me up the North Slide in the sunshine. They vanished when the trail turned into the woods. |

| Comments: |
The morning was cool and dry, an excellent day for hiking the North Slide. Fine views. However, in the gulley of the lower third of the slide lie the remains of a unfortunate moose. Badly decomposed and under a cloud of flies. Smells pretty strong. Be prepared. |
