Beautiful Sunny day, like everyone else i saw you needed micro spikes from knife's edge until the the Airline became mostly rocks , which was doable with bare boots or with spikes on - just took more time with out traction. There had been significant melting prior to friday - the north sides of the peaks had most of the ice but it was refrozen rime ice -the tops of the rocks were mostly bare. Descending the Watson path took a little longer to make sure i was not stepping on frozen rocks - i was the only person that went down that way all day. Was yelled at for Feeding a gray jay at Madison Hut by an angry girl working inside the hut |
