| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
A few new-ish looking tress on the north section of the Livermore Trail. Scaur Ridge Trail had a couple also. I had lunch on North Tri with a local trail maintainer and thanked him for his efforts. |
|
| Dog-Related Notes: |
I saw one on North Tri - very well behaved and enjoying the day. |
|
| Bugs: |
Skeeters were out and hungry low on the Livermore Trail in the morning. After that mostly black flies were on the heavy side of moderate the rest of the day. |
|
| Lost and Found: |
FOUND: ice (!), underneath a boulder on the Pine Bend Brook Trail...a week before summer... |

| Comments: |
Day 1 of a Sandwich overnight...
Livermore Trail from the Kanc had all conditions checked above at some point - a complete mixed bag. Just beyond Livermore Pass was very wet and muddy...like up-to-the-shin, boot-sucking muddy in a couple of spots. From there Scaur Ridge Trail was a little leafy but mostly dry - as were the rest of these trails. The blowdown stretch on the Kate Sleeper Trail is passable and quite a sight to behold.
I saw maybe a half-dozen folks on the Tri's and nobody else until setting up camp off the Kate Sleeper Trail. Great weather and a VERY quiet night made for a fun trek. |
