Date of Hike
Date of Hike: Thursday, June 1, 2017
Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: $3 parking fee, clean lot with ample spaces
Surface Conditions
Surface Conditions: Mud - Minor/Avoidable
Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Ellis River (beginning of trail) does not have an easy crossing. During high water there is no safe way across. During low water you will have to make significant rock hops or wade thru 3 foot cold mountain water.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Poorly blazed. Hard to find start (saw few couples turn around and leave). White blazing on trail has not been updated in a while so easy to get off trail within first 1 mile.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Not recommended for dogs. Very steep with lots of rocks hopping/climbing. Also the Ellis river water crossing would be difficult.
Bugs
Bugs: None yet.
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: Lost fleece pullover.

Comments
Comments: Due to high water danger with no easy crossing and the poor blazing of trail, I would not recommend this path to Wildcats (try 19 Mile Brook Trail instead).
