A long day covering a lot of terrain. Lost ~45 min bushwhacking from parking at Mt Wash RR terminus to the Boundary Line Trail. It is unfortunate that Jeff Notch Rd is still closed, added on 2 hours of hiking time.
A few patches of snow, including two that had to be crossed on the Gulfside Trail between Jeffereson and Adams, and a few small patches coming down Valley Way. Traction not needed. A lot of water on Valley Way, but it's spring, so have to expect. Above treeline on Jefferson and heading to Adams and then down is a relatively unpleasant boulder/rock trail that is slow going. With Basia, Andras, Jim. Nice day for it, with cool temps, limited sun, and no flies until descending Valley Way, at which point they were minor. Did not use repellent, and had no bites. |
