| Water Crossing Notes: |
Black Brook running high, usual rocks are underwater on 1-2 of the crossings on Bondcliff Trail. Poles recommended for balance. I managed to keep my feet dry but it was a bit hairy. |
|
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
It's that weird shoulder season where you can see all of the winter damage as the snow melts, but crews haven't gone out yet to clean up. Particularly rough sections were the Twinway from Guyot to South Twin (constant blowdown and horrible postholes), and the Franconia Ridge Trail from Little Haystack to Flume (lots of blowdown). Scattered blowdown and poor drainage throughout the entire loop. It's springtime, people! |
|
| Dog-Related Notes: |
Saw many dogs enjoying the weekend. Several of them were wearing "boots" to protect paws. |
|
| Bugs: |
The gnats are certainly out on Franconia Ridge. Other than that, fairly minimal. Didn't get any ticks. |
