Light Traction |
|
| Water Crossing Notes: |
The crossing from the Cascade Brook to Kinsman Pond took a little walk upstream to find a suitable crossing and some bushwacking to get back on trail. No big hassle if you've done it before. A little water in the boots, but nothing major |
|
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Fishin Jimmy has a felled pine traversing from the junction of Cascade to Lonesome that causes some off trailing. Deep mud as you pass through. Other felled trees along entire route. Nothing major. The pine on Fishin Jimmy near the Cascade/Lonesome needs to be moved. If I had equipment with me, I'd have done it. |

| Dog-Related Notes: |
Saw no dogs, lots of paw prints in the snow and mud, though. |

| Comments: |
GORGEOUS day for a hike. The top of N. Kinsman showed everything you'd want to see. S. Kinsman's peak is not as open, though you can still see Franconia Ridge well enough and over to Moosaulake. Use of micro-spikes was recommended, though not necessarily mandatory. A few hearty souls didn't wear them and made it up. Spikes would've made it a heck of a lot easier. |
