Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Ellis River in Pinkham is still high. Not bad for humans but had to be very careful with my dog who was with me, but we made it.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: In great shape overall, no major blow downs
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Had my golden with me and he completed #21 and 22... having said that he is a very good hiker and I can see this trail been extremely challenging for some dogs.
Bugs
Bugs: Not one black fly from the time I left at 7:30 back at the trailhead at 2. Did find one to tick on the dog

Comments
Comments: Love this trail and the challenge of the first 2 and last 2 miles on the way back! Boston the Golden Retriever did #21 and 22 and he definitely earned them! He's normally very independent but even he needed some help on the steep pitches going up D. Trail is in great shape though, and only patches (although some large) of snow on the ridge between D and A. We started early so that the monorail would still be solid from the night before and our plan didn't disappoint! Think I only post holed once or twice the entire day and never had to put my spikes on.
