Quite a bit of standing water on the eastern side of the range but it did just rain and was slowly draining. |

Black flies are out for sure and we had a few ticks hitchhike off of Whiteface. Watch those grassy areas. |

5/15 was cloudy with some rain. Camped at Round Pond under clear skies and much appreciated wind. 5/16 was borderline hot with thick black flies (more annoying than biting). 12 peaks with no trace of snow. Just what we needed. |
