 | Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Road's in great shape. Some sort of Guard or maybe Corps of Engineers activity going on in the Hidden Valley parking lot; lots of heavy equipment but nobody said boo. |
|
 | Surface Conditions: |
Dry Trail, Wet Trail, Standing/Running Water on Trail, Mud - Significant, Leaves - Significant/Slippery |
|
 | Recommended Equipment: |
|
|
 | Water Crossing Notes: |
Water crossings took a little thought but no wet feet or leaps of faith. |
|
 | Trail Maintenance Notes: |
One substantial blowdown that was only partially limbed down on the east side of Shannon on the yellow trail; better limbing would help but taking it out would require some serious gear. One large, high blowdown on the blue trail between yellow and red in the Shannon-Goat Pasture col...this wouldn't be a problem except it's where the trail is very mucky and hikers need to combine rock-hopping with tree-ducking. Mess of smaller trees down on blue trail just a little south of Old Stage; there's a lot but they're all fairly small and should go with hand saw. |

 | Bugs: |
Slapped a couple of skeeters but mostly good as long as kept moving. A slight breeze helped. |

 | Comments: |
Most of the trails are pretty dry, some mucky bits on the blue trail west and southwest of Goat. |
