Comments
Comments: Parked at the Basin and took the bushwhack to the Liberty Springs Trail. Some mud down low with easy water crossings. Spotty ice and packed snow showed up at 3700 ft. Liberty summit bare rock. The back side of Liberty had a little more packed snow with some ice. Franconia Ridge to Flume had off and on crusted snow and ice, but easy to navigate around. A few blowdowns. I wore my spikes as needed. I saw another hiker on the trail in trail runners and no traction and he seemed to be doing well. It turned into a great day with minor breezes and sunny warm temps. Most of the snow and ice gone on Liberty Springs trail on the return.
