| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
No parking lot, just a small pull-off at the trailhead without room for too many cars, so get there early. |
|

| Water Crossing Notes: |
After Mt. Surprise there were occasional periods of very deep mud, which were bridged, but still easy to fall into if you missed a step. |
|
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
A couple small blowdowns that were easy to step-over. Some of the water bridges were in rough shape and need repair/replacement. |

| Comments: |
Just waterproof boots and gaiters for the day. Didn't use traction as I felt the microspikes would have been overkill, but YakTrax would have been useful.
Trail began getting increasingly wet/muddy around Mt. Surprise (a little less than halfway to summit). Rock slabs/ledges were mostly wet (rarely icy), but were still extremely slick; ascent wasn't too bad, but descent required careful steps to prevent slipping.
Occasional views today, but mostly in the clouds.
